Thomas Moores was Member of the Legislative assembly between 1949 to 1957, and was Minister for Transport in 1957. He was born in Gympie and attended the Brisbane Industrial High School. Thomas Moores worked as a plumber in England for two years between 1935 and 1936, later returning to Brisbane to teach manual training at the West End, South Brisbane, and Dutton Park Opportunity State Schools.
